Q: What age is right to bring my child for his/her first check-up?
A: When your child's teeth begin to appear, you should bring them in for a check-up, generally near their first birthday.

Q: Is one type of toothbrush better than others?
A: It's important to use a toothbrush that properly fits your mouth. Also, medium to hard bristles can cause irritation of the gums, leading to recession.

Q: Are all toothpastes the same?
A: They're not the same but, it's advised that you use toothpaste that contains fluoride to help prevent tooth decay. Whatever brand of toothpaste you use, it's important to brush at least twice a day and visit your dentist often.

Q: How often should I floss?
A: Your toothbrush is an effective tool to prevent cavities but it doesn't reach between your teeth. That is why it is important to floss at least once a day to keep your gums healthy.

Q: What's the difference between a partial denture and a bridge?
A: Both procedures will replace missing teeth but a bridge is permanently attached to your existing teeth. A partial denture can be removed by the patient.

Q: Are dental x-rays safe?
A: There is very little risk involved in dental x-rays. Our office takes extra precautions, utilizing digital radiographs for less radiation exposure.

Q: What types of providers do your participate with?
A: We are a participating provider for Anthem, BeneCare retiree plan, Husky A/B for children under 21, United Health Care and Delta Dental Premiere.

Q: Do you offer financing?
A: Yes. Dr. Bottaro has financing available, including six months interest-free. Call us to ask for details.
